Immunizations

Immunizations play a crucial role in public health by protecting individuals and communities from infectious diseases. Vaccines help to prevent the spread of illnesses, reducing the incidence of outbreaks and protecting those who are unable to be vaccinated, such as infants or individuals with certain medical conditions. By achieving herd immunity, immunizations contribute to the overall reduction of disease prevalence, which not only saves lives but also decreases healthcare costs associated with treating preventable diseases. Furthermore, immunization programs can lead to the eradication of diseases, as seen with smallpox, highlighting their importance in maintaining global health.
